First Vision

First Church is a community of Christian believers being transformed through intentional discipleship (Ephesians 4:13), spirit based worship (John 4:23). God meets us in these acts and leads us to practice Christian hospitality (Romans 12:13) and to build lay leadership Teams (Ephesians 4:12) resulting in a witness to all persons about new possibilities in Christ (Matthew 28:19-20) and service to those who are hurting (Psalm 32:3).

Nutshell First Vision (a work in progress):

Lifting up Christ in a way that makes people want to follow Him.

Find unbelievers and bring them to Christ

Ignite love and concern for one another through fellowship                                                                                                       opportunities

Reach out to people in need

Strengthen people through vital worship opportunities

Train disciples to be devoted followers of Christ

We Should:

    Be united around this vision

    ● Be energized by this vision

    ● Own this vision

    ● Let this vision give us laser-like focus

Testing Our Commitment:

    ● Not begrudging participation

    ● Instead, 100% commitment to:

              ◘ Prayer

              ◘ Work

              ◘ Service

Maximizing Commitment:

     ● Read

     ● Study

     ● Find a growth group

     ● Develop to the Zenith of our potential

     ● Set SAM goals: specific, attainable, measurable

What’s at stake:

     ● A world in need of change

     ● Eternal destinies of our neighbors

Prayer Ministries

Kathy Beach shared that corporate worship and prayer ministries are important. God is concerned about how we worship him. At First Church we are careful to worship God in wonderful ways. Prayer connects us to God. God will act when we pray. We have a prayer team in the chapel during both Sunday morning services that lifts up specific ministries, prayer cards and the service. Everyone is invited and encourage to be a part of this prayer team.
