Visiting
and writing to our church’s “shut-ins,” those unable to attend
church regularly because of illness or lack of mobility. A sensitivity to
issues surrounding the later years of life and sometimes impending death
is essential. Patience and the ability to listen are critical.

although pastors can provide instruction and support as specific issues
arise.
