| Description: |
Leaders of GOWN programs function similarly to Sunday school teachers. The sessions are for a shorter term, however (six to eight weeks) and may cover more highly defined issues (a specific book of the Bible, for example) or aim for specific audiences (a mens prayer study, for example). Teaching ability is needed, of course. This ability could be expressed in one of several teaching styles some people may best at teach from a lecture format, while others may be more comfortable using discussion groups, for example. First Church strongly encourages use of technology in some Wednesday night programs for example, computers or video so being technologically adept also may be helpful. |

| Training: | Mostly, on the job or what has been acquired through life experience. Pastors and staff are available to help GOWN leaders develop a better understanding of their materials, particularly as their programs relate to Scripture or theology. | ||
| Days/Hours of Service: | 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays, with hours sometimes being adjusted to fit a particular program. (Please also allow time during the week for preparation.) | ||
| Location for Serving: | In a meeting room located in one of the church buildings. | ||
